Assessments For ADHD
Understanding your focus, one step at a time
Understanding your brain is the first step toward working with it
If you've ever felt like your mind won't slow down, or that you can never quite catch up, you're not alone. Maybe you lose track of conversations, miss deadlines despite your best intentions, or find yourself paralyzed by tasks that seem effortless for others. Perhaps you've been told you're lazy, careless, or just need to try harder.
That narrative ends here.
At Blue Hour Psychological Services, we offer comprehensive ADHD assessments for teens and adults aged 16 and older. Whether you've been questioning ADHD for years or are just beginning to recognize the signs, our evaluations are designed to give you clear, accurate answers about how your brain works, and why.
An ADHD assessment isn't about labeling you. It's about finally making sense of your experiences so you can access the right support and build strategies that actually work.
ADHD doesn't always look like a child who can't sit still. In older teens and adults, it can look like chronic disorganization, difficulty managing time, emotional overwhelm, or the exhausting effort of keeping up with daily responsibilities while feeling constantly behind.
Over time, undiagnosed ADHD can lead to burnout, anxiety, low self-esteem, and a persistent sense that something is just off, even when you can't explain why.
A professional ADHD evaluation helps identify whether these challenges are rooted in attention and executive functioning, or whether something else is at play.
Either way, you stop guessing and start getting answers.
What is an ADHD Assessment?
An ADHD assessment is a structured psychological evaluation that examines how your brain handles attention, memory, planning, organization, and impulse control.
It goes far beyond a checklist, our evaluations combine clinical interviews, standardized cognitive testing, and behavioral rating scales to build a complete picture of how you function across different areas of your life.
A thorough assessment can:
Confirm or rule out an ADHD diagnosis
Identify co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, or learning differences
Provide a clearer understanding of your cognitive strengths and challenges
Inform recommendations for therapy, coaching, or medication support
Generate documentation for academic or workplace accommodations
How an ADHD Assessment Helps You Move Forward
A comprehensive evaluation provides:
Clear answers about attention and focus challenges
A deeper understanding of how your brain processes tasks and information
Recommendations for therapy, coaching, or medication support if appropriate
Strategies to improve organization, time management, and follow-through
Documentation for academic or workplace accommodations if needed
This isn't about judgment. It's about giving you the information you need to stop working against your brain, and start working with it.

FAQs
What services do you offer?
1
What does ADHD testing involve?
If focus, organization, or follow-through are consistently affecting your work, studies, or relationships, and trying harder isn't solving it, an assessment is worth considering. ADHD often goes unrecognized in teens and adults, especially in people who've learned to cope. If you've spent years wondering why things feel harder than they should, an evaluation can replace the guesswork with real answers.
2
It's not a single test, it's a combination of methods that together build an accurate picture of how your brain works. This typically includes a clinical interview about your history and daily functioning, standardized cognitive tasks measuring attention and executive functioning, and behavioral questionnaires. Together, these allow us to identify patterns and arrive at a well-supported conclusion.
How long does an ADHD evaluation take?
3
The testing and interview process takes between two and four hours, usually across one to two sessions. Afterward, your psychologist will prepare a written report with findings and recommendations. You'll also have a feedback session to discuss the results and ask questions.
What do ADHD assessment results tell me?
4
Your results give you a detailed picture of how your brain works, not just a yes or no. You'll learn whether ADHD is present, where your specific challenges lie, what your cognitive strengths are, and whether other factors like anxiety or learning differences may be involved. The report also includes practical recommendations and can be shared with your doctor, therapist, employer, or academic institution.
